IBMS awards are amongst our most prestigious and recognise exceptional levels of commitment over a significant period of time.
Life Membership is awarded to recognise consistent, long and valuable service to the IBMS at national or international level.
Nominees for Life Membership will expected to be a current corporate member with at least 25 years of continuous membership, and are able to demonstrate service of at least 10 years at national or international level.
Up to four Life Membership awards may be granted in any one calendar year.
In addition to the recognition these awards bring, Life Members are exempt from paying membership fees going forward.
Criteria
Nominations are invited from Licentiates, Members and Fellows of the IBMS and require the support of their IBMS Regional Council Member. Overseas members without regional council representation can email mc@ibms.org to discuss a suitable alternative supporter.

The nominator and successful nominees will be informed in the following year, after the March IBMS Council meeting, and the award will be presented at the IBMS Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Honorary Membership is awarded to recognise consistent, long and valuable service to the IBMS at branch or regional level.
Nominees for Honorary Membership are expected to be a current corporate member with at least 25 years of continuous membership, have retired from active professional life and are able to demonstrate service of at least 15 years at branch or regional level.
In addition to the recognition these awards bring, Honorary Members are exempt from paying membership fees going forward.
Criteria
Nominations are invited from Licentiates, Members and Fellows of the IBMS and require the support of their IBMS Regional Council Member. Self nominations are not accepted.
