Whether you're a qualified biomedical scientist, a student, a university lecturer or research scientist, you can present your project as a poster at Congress 2023, where you're guaranteed a lively, receptive and well-informed audience. All abstracts will be refereed for publication in the British Journal of Biomedical Science. Plus, you will also get free Congress 2023 admittance on the day that your poster is presented!

Displaying your poster
All presenters must be with their poster between 12.30pm and 2pm of the day that it is being displayed.
All posters must be removed between 4.30pm and 6pm after your presentation, responsibility cannot be accepted for any posters left in the display after this time.
Guidelines for display
Your poster must be on A0 size paper/card measuring 841mm in width by 1189mm in height. This cannot be exceeded as each poster is allocated one poster board. Posters must be presented in portrait orientation only.
The poster board is covered by nylon loop material, to accept Velcro only. You are required to bring your own Velcro to display your posters. Pins are not permitted.
Posters must be in position by 11am and we recommend that a photograph of the author/presenter is present at the top right-hand corner of your poster.
Judging the posters
Posters will be judged using the following the criteria:
1. Poster Presentation and Layout
- The poster is well organised, neat and attractive
- The information in the poster is concise and complete
- The information in the poster is presented with correct grammar, spelling and syntax
- The information in the poster is presented in a creative manner
- Graphics are clear and labeled appropriately
2. Content of the Poster
- The objectives of the poster are clearly stated and address specific issues
- The key ideas are clearly explained
- The poster demonstrates critical insight into the topic
- The poster ends with a conclusion
- The conclusions are warranted by the data
- The knowledge of reference material is evident
3. The presenter understands and answers the questions well
Design checklist
*Your poster should be:
- Presented in portrait layout and printed on A0 size paper
- Be concise and well organised
- Simple with a clear 'take-home' message
- Attractive and aesthetically pleasing
- Be easy to read from a distance of at least 1 – 2 metres
- Focused on the science/topic
- A mixture of graphics and text
The poster must include:
- A title
- Names of authors or contributors
- Address of authors or contributors
- Keywords
- A brief introduction
- The methods used
- Results
- Discussion/conclusions
- References
- Acknowledgements
